AMAZON’S DISASTROUS PERFORMANCE AT CITY COUNCIL CALLS INTO QUESTION FUTURE OF HQ2 DEAL

More of The Same Non-Answers from Amazon Executives Is Unacceptable

Robert B. Engel, chief spokesperson for the Free & Fair Markets Initiative (FFMI), released the following statement after this morning’s New York City Council hearing on Amazon’s close-door HQ2 negotiations.

“Amazon’s disastrous performance at City Council today showed why policymakers must start seriously considering pulling the plug on this deal. The company either failed or refused to answer the most basic questions about how an HQ2 campus would impact the Queens community.

“It’s time to put this deal under real scrutiny from independent experts instead of Amazon-appointed cheerleaders.”
