FDNY Chief Sounds Alarm Over Amazon HQ2 Development In New York

Amazon HQ2 arrival in Long Island City will “put a strain” on firefighters and could bring “greater number of incidents.”

“We can anticipate with confidence that the growth in daytime population brought on by Amazon will lead to a greater number of incidents,” John Sudnik, the FDNY’s acting chief of department, said Monday during a City Council hearing about the neighborhood’s emergency services.
